Die selbstverwalteten Häuser und Wagenplätze von Winterthur sind Teil eines vielfältigen Netzwerks selbstorganisierter Häuser, Räume und Betriebe. Sie sind Teil der Kultur und Geschichte dieser Stadt. Sie sind dringend benötigter günstiger Wohn- und Kulturraum für viele. Sie, und insbesondere die Gisi, sind für uns aus der Stadt nicht wegzudenken.  Diese Orte sind wichtig, weil sie es möglich machen, Perspektiven jenseits der kapitalistischen Logik aufzubauen. Sie bieten Wohnraum für Leute mit wenig Geld. Sie werden dem profitorientierten Wohnungsmarkt entzogen und für emanzipatorische Projekte geöffnet. An diesen Orten werden Menschen politisiert und fortschrittliche Ideen diskutiert, gelebt und weitergegeben.  Doch uns geht es nicht nur um die Gisi! Wohnraum ist ein Grundbedürfnis und darf nicht der Profitmaximierung dienen. Die immer höheren Mieten können viele nicht mehr bezahlen, während eine kleine Minderheit vom aufgeheizten Immobilienmarkt profitiert. Die selbstverwalteten und besetzen Häuser durchbrechen die Profitlogik und haben damit eine politische Bedeutung, die weit über die eigenen vier Wände hinausgeht. Die Besitzerin der Gisi, die SKKG (Stiftung für Kunst Kultur und Geschichte), hat angekündigt, das Haus im März 2026 totalzusanieren und die Bewohner*innen auf die Strasse zu stellen. Die SKKG besitzt 2200 Wohnungen, in denen mehrheitlich Menschen mit wenig Geld leben. Die Stiftung hat die Häuser Jahrzehntelang vernachlässigt, die Mieten eingestrichen und damit eine Kunstsammlung finanziert. Jetzt argumentiert sie, dass die Häuser saniert werden müssen, weil sie in einem schlechten Zustand sind. Die Mieten werden dabei stark erhöht und die bisherigen Bewohner:innen können sich ihr Zuhause nicht mehr leisten. Was die SKKG und viele andere Immobilienbesitzer:innen hier vorantreiben, ist nichts anderes als eine Vertreibung der Armen! In Zeiten der akuten Wohnungsnot, in der viele Lohnabhängige Mühe haben, die steigenden Mieten zu bezahlen, dürfen wir der Zerstörung von günstigem Wohnraum nicht tatenlos zusehen. Die Zerstörung der Gisi wird über kurz oder lang auch zu Mieterhöhungen in der Nachbarschaft führen. Es ist darum sowohl aus sozialen wie auch aus ökologischen Gründen sinnvoll und notwendig, bestehende Häuser und Bewohner:innen-Strukturen zu erhalten.     Wir erklären uns solidarisch mit den Bewohner:innen aller räumungsbedrohten selbstverwalteten Wohn- und Kulturräume in Winterthur. Wir wollen eine vielfältige Stadt, in der alle Platz haben. * * * ENGLISH VERSION * * * Gisi stays! – For the preservation of the autonomous residential and cultural space in Winterthur To:  Thomas D. Meier, President of the SKKG Foundation Board and Bettina Stefanini, Director of the SKKG Gisi, the oldest squatted house in the city of Winterthur, is threatened with eviction. It is an immensely important place for non-commercial culture and affordable housing. It must persist as a self-organised, emancipatory and resistant project. The owner, SKKG, is behind the eviction plan. We call on the decision makers to enter into a serious dialogue with the residents of Gisi and seek a negotiated solution instead of resorting to eviction, violence and destruction. Specifically, we call for the negotiation of a building lease agreement that guarantees the autonomy of Gisi and ensures the long-term preservation of affordable living and cultural space. Why does this matter? The self-managed houses and caravan sites in Winterthur are part of a diverse network of self-organised houses, spaces and businesses. They are part of the culture and history of this city. They provide urgently needed affordable living and cultural space for many. They, and especially the Gisi, are an integral part of our city. These places are important because they make it possible to develop perspectives beyond the capitalist logic. They offer living space for people with little money. They are taken out of the profit-oriented housing market and opened up for emancipatory projects. In these places, people become politicised and progressive ideas are discussed, lived and passed on.  But we are not just concerned with Gisi! Housing is a basic need and should not serve to maximise profits. Many people can no longer afford the ever-increasing rents, while a small minority profits from the heated property market. Self-organised and squatted houses break with the logic of profit and thus have a political significance that goes far beyond their own four walls. The owner of Gisi, SKKG (Foundation for Art, Culture and History), has announced that it will completely renovate the building in March 2026 and evict the residents. The SKKG owns 2,200 flats, most of which are occupied by people with little money. The foundation has neglected the buildings for decades, pocketing the rent and using it to finance an art collection. Now it argues that the buildings need to be renovated because they are in poor condition. Rents will be increased significantly and the current residents will no longer be able to afford their homes. What SKKG and many other property owners are pushing for here is nothing less than the displacement of the poor! In times of acute housing shortages, when many wage earners are struggling to pay rising rents, we cannot stand idly by and watch the destruction of affordable housing. The destruction of Gisi will sooner or later lead to rent increases in the neighbourhood. It is therefore both socially and ecologically sensible and necessary to preserve existing buildings and resident structures.  We declare our solidarity with the residents of all self-organised residential and cultural spaces in Winterthur that are threatened with eviction. We want a diverse city, not a city for the rich!

Allowing it to dominate means the music you hear at home, in shops, on social media, and in public spaces will become generic, soulless, and repetitive. 5. It protects consent and creativity. AI models are often trained on real musicians’ work without approval. Even if you’re not a musician, protecting consent, ownership, and ethical use of human creativity is something everyone should stand behind. 6. It preserves human expression. Music is one of the few universal languages of emotion. No machine feels heartbreak, joy, grief, or triumph. If we allow commercial AI music to take over, we replace real emotional expression with hollow imitation. 7. It ensures the future we pass on is one where human stories matter. La pétition demande que soit créé, à Lausanne, un mémorial pour les victimes de la chasse aux sorcières. Celui-ci pourrait se situer au Parc Bourget, où se trouvaient autrefois les bûchers, ou à un autre endroit emblématique, comme la place du Château, par exemple.

Der Gruss «Weidmannsheil» stammt aus einer Zeit, in der die Jagd ausschliesslich Männern vorbehalten war. Heute sind Frauen ein selbstverständlicher Teil der Jagdkultur – doch die Sprache hat sich nicht mitentwickelt. Der Ausdruck wirkt dadurch ausgrenzend und überholt. Mit der Einführung von «in bocca al luf» haben wir die Chance, ein starkes Zeichen zu setzen: geschlechtergerecht – ein Gruss für alle Jäger*innen kulturell verankert – ein Ausdruck aus der romanischen Schweiz modern und offen – eine Tradition, die mit der Gesellschaft Schritt hält Tradition lebt nur, wenn sie sich wandeln darf. Ein neuer, inklusiver Jagdgruss verbindet Generationen und Regionen und zeigt, dass die Jagd eine Gemeinschaft ist, in der alle willkommen sind.

Dieses Thema betrifft immer mehr Menschen in der Schweiz (mich mit eingeschlossen) und würde nicht nur uns helfen, sondern auch dem ganzen Sozialsystem. Eine Entlastung für IV und EL, zudem müsste nicht mehr darüber diskutiert werden, dass junge Menschen keine oder nur eine begrenzte Rente erhalten. Ein absoluter Blödsinn, um Ausgaben zu senken, auf Kosten der Gesundheit dieser Personen, die darauf angewiesen sind.

Spazio sicuro e protetto tutto l’anno:  Uno skatepark coperto permette agli appassionati di skate, BMX, scooter e roller di allenarsi e divertirsi indipendentemente dalle condizioni meteo, senza rischiare incidenti causati da superfici bagnate o ghiacciate. 2. Promuove uno stile di vita sano e attivo:  Lo skateboarding è un’attività sportiva completa che aiuta a migliorare equilibrio, coordinazione e resistenza. Avere uno spazio dedicato incentiva i giovani (e non solo) a muoversi, uscire all’aperto e socializzare in modo positivo. 3. Riduce il rischio di infortuni in spazi non adatti:  Spesso i rider sono costretti a praticare in spazi non ufficiali e pericolosi (strade, parcheggi, piazze con pavimentazioni scivolose). Professor Wintsch’s act is a rare and clear example of moral and academic dissent in a time marked by fear and conformity. Publicly recognizing his choice means: • honoring individual courage in the face of fascism; • strengthening active memory as an educational tool; • reaffirming the University’s commitment to democratic, antifascist, and civic values. We believe that the withdrawal of honors granted to Mussolini (including the honorary doctorate) remains a relevant issue today, as shown by the recent decisions of several Italian municipalities – including Salò, former capital of the Italian Social Republic – which revoked his honorary citizenship, even in the absence of specific legal frameworks. Nearly ninety years later, this is more than just a symbolic gesture. It is a clear signal UNIL can send to show that history must be confronted, not erased.

Le geste du professeur Wintsch constitue un exemple rare et lumineux de dissidence morale et académique à une époque marquée par la peur et le conformisme. Reconnaître publiquement son choix, c’est : • honorer le courage individuel face au fascisme ; • renforcer la mémoire active comme outil pédagogique ; • réaffirmer l’engagement de l’Université envers les valeurs démocratiques, antifascistes et de responsabilité civique. Nous considérons que le retrait des distinctions honorifiques accordées à Mussolini (dont le doctorat h.c.) reste un sujet d’actualité, comme le montrent les récentes décisions de plusieurs communes italiennes, dont Salò (ancienne capitale de la République sociale italienne), qui ont retiré sa citoyenneté d’honneur, même en l’absence de cadre juridique spécifique. Près de quatre-vingt-dix ans plus tard, il ne s’agit pas d’un simple geste symbolique. C’est un signal concret que l’UNIL peut envoyer pour affirmer que l’histoire doit être affrontée, pas effacée.
