Protect Musicians and Art: Ban AI-Generated Music from Monetization

Why Commercial AI-Generated Music Must Be Banned
To streaming platforms and policymakers:
Commercial AI music is not creativity. It is imitation built on stolen work. Allowing it to be monetized is an attack on real musicians and on the cultural value of music itself.
People who pump out AI tracks for profit are not artists—they are chasing clout, likes, and followers without ever learning rhythm, training their voice, touching an instrument, or investing in the craft. They want the rewards of music without doing any of the work. And their actions massively disrespect every musician who spent years developing skill, emotion, and originality.
AI generators can release thousands of tracks a day. Musicians cannot compete with that volume. When platforms allow commercial AI uploads, they bury real artistry under mountains of automated content designed only to manipulate algorithms. The result is a music ecosystem where quantity replaces quality, and genuine human expression is pushed to the bottom.
Music is not meant to be a shortcut for influencers or quick-profit opportunists. It is a human art form shaped by lived experience, struggle, culture, and emotion—things no machine can feel or replicate.
This isn’t about stopping technology. It’s about protecting the people who make music real. It’s about preventing the industry from being overrun by synthetic “artists” who never cared enough to create anything themselves.
Streaming platforms and governments must act now:
Ban monetized, commercial AI-generated music.
Protect human musicians from algorithmic displacement.
Preserve artistry, authenticity, and cultural integrity.
Music created without humanity ultimately destroys the space meant for human creators. Real musicians deserve better—and so does the world that listens to them.

Warum ist das wichtig?

Why Everyone Should Sign This Petition

This issue is bigger than musicians. It affects culture, creativity, jobs, and the integrity of the media we all consume every day. Commercial, monetized AI music doesn’t just harm artists—it harms everyone who cares about authenticity, fair work, and a healthy creative economy.

1. It protects cultural integrity.
If platforms are flooded with machine-made content, our shared culture becomes disposable. Music shapes identity, memory, community, and emotion. When synthetic tracks dominate, society loses something deeply human.

2. It protects jobs and fair pay.
The music industry supports millions: performers, producers, engineers, stage crews, educators, venue workers, and more. Replacing real music with auto-generated content threatens entire livelihoods—not just the artists at the front.

3. It fights corporate exploitation.
Big tech and platforms profit when AI floods the market because machines generate endless content at zero cost. Without regulation, they will prioritize volume over quality, pushing genuine human creators further down the algorithm.

4. It prevents a future of low-quality, mass-produced noise.
AI content is designed to manipulate metrics, not to move people. Allowing it to dominate means the music you hear at home, in shops, on social media, and in public spaces will become generic, soulless, and repetitive.

5. It protects consent and creativity.
AI models are often trained on real musicians’ work without approval. Even if you’re not a musician, protecting consent, ownership, and ethical use of human creativity is something everyone should stand behind.

6. It preserves human expression.
Music is one of the few universal languages of emotion. No machine feels heartbreak, joy, grief, or triumph. If we allow commercial AI music to take over, we replace real emotional expression with hollow imitation.

7. It ensures the future we pass on is one where human stories matter.
A society that chooses convenience over creativity loses part of its soul. Signing the petition is choosing a future where human talent, effort, and authenticity still matter.
