Pour ce faire, les animaux apeurés sont conduits dans des boxes étroits et immobilisés de force afin de leur prélever des litres de sang à l'aide d'aiguilles épaisses. Les juments sont alors systématiquement soumises à la cruauté envers les animaux (1).  La PMSG est utilisée dans le monde entier dans l'élevage industriel - en particulier dans l'élevage porcin – afin de synchroniser les chaleurs d'une même exploitation. Le PMSG a pour unique but d’augmenter l'efficacité agricole. L'utilisation du PMSG est également autorisée en Suisse, pourtant l'Union suisse des paysans (USP) interdit l'utilisation de cette « hormone de la souffrance » depuis 2022 par voie de droit privé (2). Cette interdiction de l’union peut toutefois être outrepassée à tout moment, par exemple en raison de l'évolution du marché.  C'est pourquoi nous demandons à la conseillère fédérale Baume-Schneider, en tant que cheffe du Département fédéral de l'intérieur (DFI), d'interdire l'extraction, l'importation et l'utilisation de PMSG. Die verängstigten Tiere werden hierzu in enge Boxen getrieben und gewaltsam fixiert, um ihnen mit dicken Kanülen literweise Blut abzunehmen. Die Stuten sind dabei systematischer Tierquälerei ausgesetzt (1).  PMSG wird weltweit in der industriellen Tierzucht – insbesondere in der Schweinezucht – dafür eingesetzt, dass alle Muttersauen eines Betriebs gleichzeitig brünstig werden. PMSG dient somit ausschliesslich der Effizienzsteigerung in der Landwirtschaft. Auch in der Schweiz ist der Einsatz von PMSG zugelassen, der Schweizer Bauernverband (SBV) verbietet den Einsatz des Qualhormons jedoch seit dem Jahr 2022 auf privatrechtlichem Weg (2). Dieses Verbot der Branche kann aber, etwa aufgrund von veränderten Marktbedingungen, jederzeit wieder rückgängig gemacht werden.  Deshalb fordern wir Bundesrätin Baume-Schneider als Vorsteherin des Eidgenössischen Departements des Innern (EDI) auf, die Gewinnung, den Import und die Anwendung von PMSG zu verbieten. Damit soll der Verzicht nicht mehr auf Freiwilligkeit der Branche basieren, sondern gesetzlich verankert werden. Die Stiftung für das Tier im Recht (TIR) und 13 weitere Organisationen unterstützen diese Forderung. Le giumente sono intanto sottoposte a maltrattamenti sistematici (1).  Il PMSG è utilizzato in tutto il mondo nell'allevamento industriale, soprattutto in quello dei suini, per garantire che tutte le scrofe di un allevamento entrino in calore nello stesso momento. Il PMSG viene quindi utilizzato esclusivamente per aumentare l'efficienza in agricoltura. L'uso del PMSG è autorizzato anche in Svizzera, ma l'Unione Svizzera dei Contadini ha vietato l'uso dell'ormone tormento in base al diritto privato dal 2022 (2). Tuttavia, questo divieto industriale può essere revocato in qualsiasi momento, ad esempio a causa di cambiamenti nelle condizioni di mercato.  Chiediamo pertanto alla Consigliera federale Baume-Schneider, in qualità di capo del Dipartimento federale dell'interno (DFI), di vietare l'estrazione, l'importazione e l'uso di PMSG. The frightened animals are driven into narrow boxes and forcibly restrained during the process of drawing blood from them by the use of thick cannulas. The mares are subjected to systematic cruelty (1).  PMSG is used worldwide in industrial animal breeding, especially in pig breeding where it is used to ensure that all sows on a farm come into heat at the same time. PMSG is therefore used exclusively to increase efficiency in agriculture. The use of PMSG is also authorised in Switzerland but, in 2022, the Swiss Farmers' Union (SBV) banned the use of the hormone under private law (2). However, this industry ban could be revoked at any time, for example due to changes in market conditions.  We are therefore calling on Federal Councillor Baume-Schneider, as head of the Federal Department of Home Affairs (EDI), to ban the production, import and use of PMSG.
